Amazing Adventure- Milton Farmer's Market -Freshness at it's best!

The Milton Farmer's Market- What an awesome way to spend a sunny Saturday Morning!

My sister invited Melanie and I to join her on a trip to the Milton Farmer's Market. Well this was no 'in the parking lot of a mall' type of market, no! This was a 'close main street downtown' type of market and what an awesome experience!
It was filled with farmers and local producers of gorgeous food and tons of people and wagons and dogs! It was alive and kickin' and full of delicious, fresh and tasty produce. Check out what we found!

I love to buy local produce and support the local farmers and economy. Well in the last weeks of August, this is when all of nature's best is available! It's great to go with my sister because we get to buy big quantities of things like blueberries or potatoes and split it later when we get home!  Check out the peaches...

Tomatoes, little cucumbers, potatoes.

This cool looking bunch of zucchinis called 'pattipan' they look like tops and taste just like zucchinis!

Look at these gorgeous sunflowers... and the bee!
.. and these gorgeous colours...

... and these gorgeous blooms, they look like fireworks exploded! Did I mention I love flowers?

Some corn... great to split a dozen with your sister!

Little fingerling potatoes in all colours!

One of Melanie's favourite summer veggies... string beans!

Mother-daughter walking time.... ya, that happens when Stephanie doesn't want to stay in the stroller anymore.

But it's a great time to learn all about flowers.

The little botanist and her mom, learning, discovering...

...and most importantly, smelling!!!! Roses smell so fresh and sweet, right Stephanie?

Yup, she says wearing her 'Chicks Rule' shirt... I am done, what's next ma tante Chantal?  Well, you gotta wait and see for the next installment of the Farmer's Market  Amazing Adventure in a few days!

Toronto Flowers... such beauty!

Love is in the air... in Toronto. Our dear friends the St. Germains asked us to babysit their precious angel while they went out and about... what an awesome pleasure for Melanie and I. You see, they live in such a pretty neighbourhood in Toronto, one filed with life and beauty. There is so much greenery with splashes of colour in Toronto. Here's what we saw...

Gorgeous arrangements up the stairs....

Pretty lilac flowers...

My favourite... Muguet, what ? Ok, that's French for Lily of the Valley. They smell so awesome!

Some dripping bleeding hearts.

Best colour ever! Periwinkle blue... found on the little 'Forget me nots', the flower, not the song!

Oh, but seriously, look at these gorgeous purple tulips.

... ok, no wait, what about these, dark purple/black tulips... seriously incredible colour sent from heaven!

Serious artist at work....

...all finished up wish some awesome sock hop! What a beautiful day filled with love, flowers, laughter and dancing! Thanks for the beauty!

Second Cup Saturday Mornings

This is what my Fall Saturday mornings looks like folks....
Nice start eh? Well, Melanie is taking a drama/singing/dancing class at the Living Arts Centre- right in the new downtown Mississauga.  So this is where I end up....

...but this is where I statrt. I go for a nice 1 hour long power walk in the neighbourhood. Oh, my how it has changed.

 Water fountains, and pretty parks...

 Giant planters with beautiful flowers...

...and lots of them- just like in Toronto's Distillery District.

Groovy close up...
.... and then my treat for walking long and hard on a Saturday morning... a giant coffee!

Dream Shopping in Oakville

My sister and our little girls took some time to do some dream shopping in Oakville on a gorgeous summer day- when you see this store, you'll know what I am talking about.

Melanie, my superstar shopper, ready for this fun time together.

Of course, we have to start the trip off with a little cafe latte at our favourite Greenbean. Our little girls can't wait for the adventure.

Melanie gets to smoochin' with a mannequin.

Then some gorgeous flowers on the way....

... a real big closeup of this gorgeous flower.

Some more flowers, these ones are orchids and they are so delicate looking, almost like art.

Ok, now here we are on the way to the shopping event. This is an old bank downtown Oakville which has now been converted to a store- Anthropologie. This is a 2 story mecca of fashion for ladies and their homes. I had read about this store in fashion magazines and seen that this is where 'Superstars' shop, and now it's in my 'hometown', wow... we're famous too! Here's Julie, Melanie and Stephanie running across the street to get the adventure started.

Well, we walk in and I feel like I have been transported to a place where peace and colour live together in harmony. It's like a museum of softness and nature, spiked with colour- there are giant art murals, wooden floors, pops of colour and amazing clothes, accessories and home furnishings - all a little above my budget, but that's OK for now, I feel like it's a museum.

Melanie checks some skirts out while I am in awe of the amazing, mini-triangular shaped -floor to ceiling sculpture that looks like falling leaves.

 There's beautiful bowls...

Some stuff in my budget... flower paper clips.

This most awesome book. My dream is to go to Paris one day with my daughter. I love colour, and this book was made for me... Mom, if you need a Christmas present idea for me... this is the coffee table book that was made for me!!!

Cute little, and I mean little, salt and pepper shakers.

Here's some fun kitchen ideas, affordable too. A coffee mug- C for Chantal.

A French Vanilla Cappuccino mug - J for Julie.

... and a juice mug- M for Melanie.

Upstairs was more gorgeous stuff, great smelling candles, trinket jars and that's where the sales are.!.. One day I will shop there for clothes, on sale of course. Can't wait!
