I got my groove back!

To my family, friends - my awesome support network... I just wanted to share a little bit for a moment- a little bit of an Oprah moment.
This summer has been awesome with family, friends, vacations, visits and lots and lots of amazing experiences.... here's a picture that says it all!

After weeks away vacationing and finding it very hard to follow my healthy living lifestyle that I joined (I am not saying 'started' because that implies that you will be ending) almost a year ago to this day. I was in a rut, needed my ass kicked, needed to stop fantasizing about big cheeseballs and not moving as much- here's a picture of 'WHAT NOT TO EAT'... but this is where my mind was at-
These are 'Honey Boo Boo size cheeseballs' - so bad-ass, we just had to take a picture when we went to Florida. DO NOT CONSUME!
I wanted to share with you the following email I sent to my dearest life coach and friend Szos recently to annouce that I was back on the train to ultimate health: mental and physical and spiritual... all combined to pull me back into a 'SuperChantal'- the email was titled - 'I got my groove back'.
"I have been up at 6:00am for the past 3 mornings going for 45 minutes walk - really fast walking, lots of sweating and this morning even some 30 second jogging- but oops- hurt my foot because i was pounding it so hard and i am logging all my food on my fitnesspal and eating fat free greek yogurt and organic granola and green tea and making 'recipes' for dinner in the 34 degree humidity and not calling some pizza guy instead to bring me dinner.... and I am journaling every morning - remembering the blessings of the day.... Hallelujah, this chick has got her groove back, watch out world! I am going to run you over, stay out of my way!!!!!"
And to you all, to God and the Universe, I say 'THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU'.  Because of your caring, encouraging words and spirit I am now continuing along this journey and forever committed to me!

Me and Sue and our Big Salads- Magic

What a pleasure to reconnect with my dear friend Sue. We met, wayyyyyyyyyy back at Univeristy and have kept in touch throughout the years. But recently, we found we had something in common... we both started reading The Magic by Rhonda Byrne and started living with gratitude.
Oh what an amazing gratitude-filled dinner date we had! We met at Casey's in Brampton and shared a really good healthy Asian salad- she had it with shrimp...

I had mine with grilled beef tenderloin. Yum and health all in one!
But the best part of our dinner date was talking about all the wonderful things we are grateful for in our lives and how we recognize all the special people and events that we have brought all around us. It was awesome... Thanks Sue!

The Band-Aid

You’re probably asking, ‘Why do you have a picture of a Band-Aid Chantal?’. Well let me tell you, this picture symbolizes triumph, progress and a change for the better!
I recently had to do some blood work, and it has always been a hard task, you see, they can never find my veins- I have deep veins, plus they were always buried under 65.6 lbs of fat. Usually, they poke around on both arms, can’t find anything… I am made to feel like a human pin cushion and they give up looking and take blood from the back of my hand (ouch) with the baby butterfly needle. But this time was different. I was practicing “The Secret” – the law of attraction and “The Power”- Love and the “The Magic”- Gratitude. Can you tell I am a Rhonda Byrne fan???
I was in the lineup at 6:30 in the morning writing in my gratitude journal- as I finished, I sent love to all the people in the lineup, to the nurses, to the process. I get called up and I give love to the blood drawing that has been in the past-that has taken so long- and then I give love to the nurse, to the process again. I sit down on the chair and notice that I fit nicely in the chair- yeah! And I notice her name tag- Minda, and I send love to Minda as she is poking around my arm looking for veins, and she pokes and says is the other arm like this too… I say yes, the veins are in there- and we both giggle… and she continues looking on the same arm and she finds one, she thinks, so I close my eyes and give her even more love as she sticks the needle in and BINGO! She found one, I have never been happier in the blood clinic in all of my life.

I had to share this picture because I was so proud that the Band-Aid was in my arm, that giving love and positive thoughts to a situation can change it around and be awesome… the proof is in the ‘Band-Aid’.
