Scrapbooking, Snacks and Coral Shirts

This June Scrapbooking night was at my house... I had some delicious, healthy cookies and brownies from the Pampered Chef extravaganza left, so I served them up with some ripe berries and some trail mix and a few little dark chocolate Purdy's balls... you can't have a girl night without dark chocolate- that is the unwritten rule.
So I have the dark chocolate in ball form and in batter form (inside those brownies). Winning!

This is my little luscious plate, lots o' berries, lots o' dark chocolate .... and a few salty, crunchy snacks... I believe I have hit all the girlfriend night staples!
This is a fun pose... though you can't tell, we are both wearing coral... this is one of my new hoodies that fits and how cool we are matching!

As usual, I have to share our artistic output with you... Here's Nancy showing her cool layout. She actually invented a word... ATVing!
Here's my artistic ode to Canada Day. Melanie was such a cutie, dancing and posing for me. And I remember how wonderful it was to see the beauty of my mother and Melanie posing for that photo above.

Scrapbooking night...going to the dogs

Scrapbooking night was at Nancy's and she was so proud to show off 2 things....

...her nice scrapbooking pages about horseback riding on her trip...

and her beautiful- freshly groomed with new bandannas- doggies- Floss and Licorice.

Look at how cute she is resting under the table.... but she wasn't that calm all the time, she came and rested her head on my leg to say 'hi, what are you working on?' a few times.

Nancy had a nice spread for us- healthy eating is what we do now! She had some delicious crackers- will show you below, old cheddar cheese, berries and a nice dark chocolate by Dove. I just love that she prepares a little healthy feast for us and not unhealthy stuff we used to all eat.

Look at my plate.... no, really, look at my plate... It has a fancy shoe on it. That's Fancy Nancy for you!

This was one of my new discoveries for the night. Kashi Pita Crisps in Zesty Salsa. Have I mentioned that I love Kashi products? Well, these did not disappoint! They are soooo good and crispy and zesty.

Good for you- Yup! 7 crackers have 80 calories, 2g of fibre and protein- what other cracker can say that? And because it's Kashi it's filled with 'seven whole grains'.

Here's another discovery. Twistos Asiago crackers. These were good too- tasted a little bit like a 'healthy cheeto'.

You get a lot of bang for your buck with these- 17 little crackers for 90 calories. But the ingredients aren't as 'wholesame' as the Kashi stuff.

Thanks Nancy for the wonderful evening, the new snack discoveries and for your 'letter stencils' that helped me create some pretty pages about Melanie's first scrapbooking party with mommy.

Scrapping and Guacamole

It was my turn to host Scrapbooking Night. So this time, I went Mexican. I made- for the very first time in my life- Guacamole, using Szos' recipe I posted a few weeks ago. It turned out delicious, like sooooooooo good.... I was so greatful for this recipe and to be inspired to finally make it myself after seeing him prepare it for us last time! I served it with some President's Choice fresh cut salsa and organic tortilla chips and some homemade raspberry oatmeal almond bars (recipe to follow).

Nancy wanted to try the coffe from my Tassimo, she was thinking of getting one. So after I made her my favourite 'Cafe Crema', she just loved it... she decided to go out and by one that same week.

There was leftover Guacamole so Brent had some and he just loved it. He said it was delicious and that he could eat this Guacamole 24 hours a day!
So like always, we have to share the pretty pages we created. This was little 5 year old Melanie playing in the snow with her boys... friend Nico and Daddy... and then coming inside to enjoy a sweet treat.

Camera-shy girl Nancy hiding behind her page, funny enough she created a page about her Mexican trip, matched our food selection!

Welcoming a perfect little girl...

This is one of the loveliest photos I have taken of Stephanie on her mommy... the night before they left the hospital, I just had to share the cuteness with you.

Check out what was on her front lawn when she got home from the hospital!

Look at how good my sister looked only 4 days after giving birth! She is a wonder mom!

I decided to make a little 'Welcome Book' for Stephanie about the very special day she was born. So I went on the internet on the day she was born and got some very important details about her day...  I had a great time making it and I knew Julie would appreciate it, but as soon as she saw the front page she cried... oh her sweet little mama hormones! Finally my scrapbooking skills were put to use!

This was the first day that Brent and my Mom got to meet and fall in love with Stephanie as well.

Brought back memories of when Melanie was a little baby (although she was never that small).

Proud Grand-Maman!

Scrapbooking Night- food and crafty fun!

When Nancy and I get together for Scrapbooking night, we always have fun. This time, we were at Nancy's and spent lots of time talking, laughing, snacking and.... oh yeah... scrapbooking.

I came into the scrapbooking room 'the kitchen', (we both have dreams of having a whole room dedicated to scrapbooking) and saw her all set up with her photos, papers, scissors and wine.

Nancy is serious about her wine, check out the glass... Queen of Everything! Check out the shoes/boots on the glass.

I had some tea... in a cat mug, how cute? Nancy had some delicious wholesome foods. Some cut up fruits, some healthy crackers with extra old white cheddar, a bit of peach conserve, a square of Lindt 70% dark chocolate and a few candied pecans (those were good!)

This is my litte page of Melanie in SK, she's just so cute here!

Here's Nancy's page about her Mexico trip with her boys.  Thanks again Nancy for a fun Friday Night Scrapbooking Party. Next Month... my turn, and wait 'til you see what I'm gonna prepare for our 'healthy snack'!

Scrapbooking Evening

There's is nothing more relaxing and enjoyable than a scrapbooking evening with my friend Nancy. We try to scrapbook together once a month. We take turns hosting each other and preparing a little drink and snack for the other. It used to be alcoholic concoctions- like Fancy Nancy's and dips. But now Nancy supports my new healthy lifestyle and so we are doing 'healthier' snacks and drinks. It's really all about the scrapbooking anyways.

Teas, Berries, Homemade Healthy Christmas cookies- Orange Ginger cookies and Almond, Cranberry and dark chocolate bites.

We love papers..
stickers...

See, Nancy loves stickers, doubles in fact... she is making double scrapbooks ... one for each son.

I am making one for my little Melanie. Title page that took me about 4 hours to make.

Cutting, punching....

Journaling...

Et voila, Nancy's finished page.

And mine... Melanie's first Niagara Falls trip.

... and her 5th Birthday... oh the memories!!!
