Amazing Christmas Adventure- Angus, Ontario

This wasn't the 'tradtional' Amazing Adventure I ususally have with Melanie, but it was more of an adventure/roadtrip. We kept up with our tradition. Every Christmas, two of my best friends from the University of Guelph French House Residence (Robin and Suzanne) get together with our families. We take turns hosting the festivities each year and always love getting together and catching up.

Suzanne, Elise and Patrick hosted the party this year in their beautiful home in Angus. It was the first snowfall of the year, so the drive was a bit treacherous, but it's worth the drive to Angus!

Here's Robin and her son Ruah who came a little late, but if Robin didn't show up late... we'd all wonder what was wrong with her?!!!

Here we are, the U of Goo girls, looking like we did 25 years ago when we met (ouch, that hurts!)... Well, OK, not really, we all wear glasses now and maybe our hair colour is not so natural... you think???

Like I mentioned above, this was the first snowfall of the season. So the girls (almost the same age) took advantage of this rare occurence and went outside to enjoy the sweet, white blessing!

Well, that didn't last long... they proceeded to do what you always do when you see the first snowfall... throw snowballs at each other!

Happy Snowy People!

The girls waving through the family room window eventually gave up and said.... 'let us in... we need warmer boots, coats, mits....'

Then came the presents.... I think that Robin is more excited than her son?

Or is Patrick more excited to play with Lego than her son is? He seems excited about what's in the cardboard box... a mini baby laptop from us.

Yup he was.... once Patrick freed the toy from all those annoying plastic ties, he ran away with it and sat quietly on the steps trying to figure it all out.

Here's Brent with his little buddy... they have a special connection. You see, for the past 25 years it's always been girls getting together and then Suzanne and I both had girls and now there's Ruah, so Patrick and Brent are so excited to have a little man around to play boy games with now.

Big beautiful tree with those new 'BIG' christmas balls!

Pretty wreath that Elise created in grade 2 or 3.

Pretty table setting with more BIG Christmas balls and nice monogrammed napkins.

Delicious Marmelade Chicken over a bed of mashed potatoes with steamed greens beans and stir fried carrots and parships. Suzanne is quite the gourmet cook. Check out the appetizers...

Fancy cheeses.... not pictured here is Boursin- the fanciest of cheeses- that must always be present at these celebrations.

Fancy Antipasto tray...

It all ended with the kids dancing around for us and letting off some of that Holiday Energy. Thanks so much Suzanne and Patrick for hosting a wonderful evening!
